Escape to Canada

This morning we saw an awesome assembly, bringing to life many elements of Black History/African Heritage. Inspired by that, Jessica in E7B was doing research on Harriet Tubman. She found a really neat online game where you experience what it would be like to be a slave escaping to freedom in Canada.

Hi Miss Pollock.

I played this game and found it to be very educating in a way because in really showed empathy for the slaves escaping to Canada. For example, the slave probably thought, Should I go into this house or not go into this house? Should I trust these people or not trust these people? This game really put you in a slave's perspective who was trying to escape to Canada. In other words, it put you in his/her "shoes".
